Which implies that said email application has a problem with pkcs#7 attachments i.e., my attached digital signature bearing document.

I have many circumstances that are pushing me towards gmail,  but you should correct this because you can assume that you hear maybe 1% of the time when people have a problem.

I have nothing to fix if I want to continue sending digitally signed emails, based on the S/MIME standard :-)
