It is a bit tangential to the main topic, but when  we had an African contest on the English Wikipedia a couple of years back, I was able to easily considerably expand articles on half of the districts on Mozambique (the other half are still on my list). The information is there, one just needed to structure and add it.

Hoi,
Thank you! This is for me a really important eye opener.. It shows for instance how little we know about countries like Mozambique.. When we add all the parliamentarians for the last 40 year for instance, we would probably double that number easily.

I have my own niche at the moment adding information about Muslim history but I would really urge people to consider what we can do to fill in where we are so patently weak,.
Thanks,

Hello everyone,

I made two small improvements to Denelezh in order to answer to Gerard:
* The "Total" column was added to display the total number of humans for each set, and the previous "Total" column was renamed "Total with gender".
* The threshold that a country needs to be displayed in the tool was lowered from 1,000 to 200 humans (there are now 234 countries, 128 previously). Data is available starting from the last dump (2018-04-09), loaded last night.

Gerard, here is the link to the data you're looking for (with Mozambique and Ottoman Empire included):
https://denelezh.dicare.org/gender-gap.php?threshold=200#country

Hoi,
Maybe the Ottoman Empire is in there this month.. but I must be blind I do not see it in the URL. For my friend even 320 is important if only to show how far they have to go.
Thanks,

Mozambique has been only used 320 times, the Ottoman Empire is included in the dropdown.

Hoi,
Cool but... Mozambique and the Ottoman Empire are both missing. The Russian Empire is included.

The Gender Gap tool does a fairly good job at this: https://denelezh.dicare.org/gender-gap.php without a query

Hoi,
Thank you Masti for your reply. This is not what I seek, I want all humans by country and in separate fields the number of men and the number of women. This for all countries and all professions.
Thanks,

Gerard,
you start from this query that I use for ListeriaBot
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_te%C5%BC_jest_kobiet%C4%85/Brakuj%C4%85ce/szwedzkie_pisarki
It lists articles about swedish woman writers that do not have article on polish Wikipedia.
Should be easy to modify it to your needs.

Hoi,
A friend asked if we have a query showing "humans" sorted by "country of citizenship". He is particularly interested in Mozambique, I am particularly interested in former countries.

What would be particularly helpful is when there is a separate column for the genders. For some former countries like the Ottoman Empire it takes more effort to find women to write about.. Making them visible is important.
Thanks,
