The proposal is about Wiktionary articles/pages language "interwiki" links (e.g. [[en:coin]], [[fr:coin]]), not about individual words/homographs/lexemes (e.g. coin-en-noun, coin-en-verb, coin-fr-noun) which is still discussed elsewhere (see the latest here https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Comparison_of_Projects_and_Proposals_for_Wiktionary).

We do need those links, independently of the other data for the words themselves.
