Happy Friday, y'all.
There's a lot of options for when people've said they're available for the planning meeting, so I'm picking Tuesday after work because I don't feel like extending my Monday more than I have to.
Here's the details for your calendars, because I can't figure out how to get the ICS file for it:
Toronto WikiClub planning meeting Tuesday, September 10, 5:00 – 6:00pm (America/Toronto) Video call link: https://meet.google.com/gsn-ctbi-dvj
The talk topic ideas so far:
- WikiConference North America, by attendees - What it's like to be Wikimedian of the Year, by Hannah/clovermoss (I think this was a joke, but it sounds interesting?)
See y'all then!

PS: If you want people other than me to see your replies, make sure you're replying to the list address! If you don't know how to do this in your email client, you can use the reply buttons in the [thread archive](https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/wikiclub-toronto@lists.wikimedia...) to send a message from there or launch your email client's message window with the right address pre-populated.
Here's the event page. My French is not-great so please add/fix the French wherever you need to.

Great, thanks!
For everyone else: We had our first planning meeting earlier this evening. Meeting notes are available [here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JGHJ9wi9WK_TVrdc7go53yD5E7dQknq1Crn7CGXS...), but in summary:
- We're looking at being at the One Yonge Community Centre again - I've just reached out to them about securing a room. - Current expected numbers are about 30-40 people - we'll see what happens there. - Programming thoughts right now are:
- WikiConference North America presentation by attendees (Andrew and Z1720) - Clovermoss talking about being Wikimedian of the Year - were you serious about this? We at the planning meeting thought it sounded cool. - Discussion session about future programming - what do y'all want to see at these meetings? - Breakout sessions - smaller groups splitting off to work/plan/talk on something specific - Debrief at the end - Food is gonna be pizza, somewhere in there. - There might be plans in the works for a more informal "Wine & Wiki" event in evenings at a pub - stay tuned.
Next planning meeting will be the week of Sept. 23. [Here's a poll for when exactly](https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/az99lZ5e) - I'll announce the result on Friday, Sept. 20.
Have a good night, y'all, and I'll see you next time.

Hi, everyone!
Our next planning meeting is gonna be on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 5pm. Here's the call link: meet.google.com/eey-owig-wwx
Things on the agenda for this time are (I think) reviewing last meeting's to-do items, more firmly assembling a schedule for the actual event, and talking about how we want to get the word out.
See y'all then!

Hey, y'all. We just had our second planning meeting.
Here's the [meeting notes](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JGHJ9wi9WK_TVrdc7go53yD5E7dQknq1Crn7CGXS...), again, but a quick summary:
- Location is confirmed to be One Yonge CRC again. - Start time is shifted back to 11:30am because of room availability. - We have a more definite schedule now, featuring:
- Presentation/discussion on WikiConference North America, leading into a broader discussion of Wikimedia Foundation events - Clovermoss explaining Wikimedian of the Year, and a Q&A - Breakout time, for editing, giving tutorials, talking about projects, etc - Advertising plan
- Site and/or watchlist notices - WMCA social media posts
Next thing that needs to happen is updating the event page with the confirmed location and schedule (see meeting notes), including the French translations.
Now, a question I didn't think of until just now: Lunch is being provided in the form of pizza. To be able to order ahead, given our later start time, we talked about having people indicate their pizza preference when they signed up. What's the shortlist of pizza options we should tell people to pick from, so we're not ordering 30 unique pizzas?
Alright, that's all from me tonight. Have a good one.

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry that I won't be at the next meeting, but October is pretty busy for us and the meetup is right before our francophone conference. I see that everything is going well though, that's awesome!
Just scheduled some posts on our social media accounts about the meetup, it was also in our September newsletter and will be in the October one too. Attaching the visuals to this email just FYI! I did not put the time, just in case you need to make adjustments etc. People can always see that on the wiki.
Regarding the pizzas: just keep an eye on budget if you want to let people pick / don't want to go through Domino's. Also keep in mind that the people who register might not show up. I'd recommend ordering them around 12:15-12:30pm, they're usually delivered in 45 minutes or so, and like that you'll have a better idea of how many people are coming.
For the previous meetings, the cost was about $90 with taxes and fees. We did: - 5 16" pizzas in January - 6 14" pizzas in July It kinda depends on whatever coupons Domino's has at that time. Topping-wise, we had: : 1 pepperoni, 1 veggie/no cheese, 2 cheese, 1 or 2 "fun" ones: Canadian and BBQ chicken/pineapple We had request for vegetarian ones, but that's it. No gluten-free or dairy free.
Have a great day!
Sophie

Hi guys,
I read the meeting notes. I can put up the Geonotice on en.wp and en.wv. However, I don't think we will put a sitenotice since it takes a lot of work (and a lot of lead time) for very little gain.
Can we use 10-15 mins after lunch (i.e. 2:30pm to 2:45pm) to promote Wikipedia Asian month (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Asian_Month_2024) which begins in November? It could be a good segway towards edit-a-thon.
