ELO Wikimedian Volunteer Roles
Editathon helper (1-2 volunteers needed)
A WikiProject:ELIT https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Electronic_literature member will be hosting a Wikipedia editathon for conference attendees on July 10 from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the University of Waterloo.
We are looking for 1-2 experienced Wikipedians to help answer questions from attendees who are learning how to edit. Lunch and parking expenses will be covered.
Photo booth assistant (1-2 volunteers needed)
There will be a photo booth set up at the main conference (York University, Keele Campus) on July 11 and 12 with a photographer to take photos of conference attendees for Wikimedia Commons. If an attendee has a Wikipedia page needing a photo, the photo taken at the booth will then be added to their Wikipedia page.
We are looking for 1-2 volunteers with Wikimedia Commons experience to help the attendees get checked in, sign a consent form, and answer any questions related to Wikimedia Commons. The volunteers will also help the photographer keep track of who is getting their photo taken. Lunch and parking expenses will be covered.
Wikimedian “Ask Me Anything” volunteers (1-3 volunteers)
The conference organizers are looking to have a couple of experienced Wikimedians at the conference to answer questions from attendees about Wikipedia (and likely other Wikimedia projects).
We are looking for 1-3 Wikimedians experienced with Wikipedia and Wikidata to hang out in the conference lobby at York University (Keele Campus) to answer questions from attendees on July 12 and 13. The schedule is very flexible so if you are only available on one of the days or for a half day, that is no problem. Conference registration fees, lunch, and parking expenses will be covered.
