Hello, everyone! Chelsea brings word of a Black History editathon being run this month by the Toronto Public Library and the libraries of TMU, York U, and U of T. This isn't a club event, but since it's Wikipedia, and it's in our city, here's the word.

There are two online events open to all, and one in-person event open to those affiliated with the aforementioned universities. Details are in the link above, or the original message appended below.

Happy editing!

Hi there,

We're sending this to everyone who indicated they'd like to be contacted for our future edit-a-thons.

For anyone who was able to join last year, thank you! We had 45 editors improve 199 articles or items, add 616 citations and contribute 91,000+ words! 🎉

This February, the libraries of TMU, TPL, U of T and York U invite you to continue to make the world of information more inclusive in the Black Histories Wikipedia Edit-a-thon 2025!

Here's how you can participate:

Black Histories Wikipedia Edit-a-thon (With Training) - ONLINE

Keynote talk with Dr. Kisha McPherson - ONLINE

Black Histories Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Black Health Edition - IN PERSON
Participate on your own

Reminder: Check back for more in-person events on the main event webpage.
