Hello Jeroen,
We are about to pick up our work on the next Wikibase Suite releases.
As communicated
earlier
<https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/wikibaseug@lists.wikimedia.org/message/HRLNLDSEJOYJE7VSLEY2UOHYF4OUDL3B/>,
we have focused on launching Wikibase.Cloud in the past months, and aim to
get back to a regular release cycle this year.
Currently, our plan is to first do a maintenance release of Wikibase Suite
compatible with Mediawiki 1.35. Next, we intend to make a release based on
Mediawiki 1.37 so that current users of Wikibase Suite based on Mediawiki
1.36 can update their installations. We will then publish a release based
on Mediawiki 1.38.
Published releases will support the PHP versions that the relevant
Mediawiki versions support. We are looking into supporting PHP 8 but it
will likely only come with the MW 1.38 compatible releases in late 2022.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Dear Wikimedia DE,
What are the plans for the upcoming Docker releases?
When can we expect the next release with a new major MediaWiki/Wikibase
version? What MediaWiki/Wikibase version will those include, and what PHP
versions will be supported?
In particular, will there be a release for MediaWiki 1.38, or will that
version be skipped, just like 1.37?
Best
