Dear Wikibase Community,
We're excited to release a new major release for Wikibase Suite that includes a MediaWiki update to 1.46, new documentation for Wikibase Suite, Wikimedia Logins, and an easier way to install Wikibase Suite!
This release includes the latest MediaWiki version 1.46. We now have the docker image for OpenSearch instead of ElasticSearch.
Now you can sign in to your Wikibase with the Wikimedia account you already have! Login with Wikimedia lets members of the Wikimedia community use the same login they use on Wikidata, Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia projects, with no new password to create or manage.
The first time someone signs in this way, Wikibase Suite (WBS) automatically creates a matching local account for them. We will also ship user tracking with WBS only.
You can find relevant documentation for this here.
We have updated the structure of our documentation and renamed our GitHub repository to make it easier to find and navigate. You can find all the relevant documentation under the folder docs.
We are very excited to share a new and easier way to install Wikibase Suite via a web-based installer! You can read more about the process in our documentation.
To install Wikibase Suite, follow the instructions in our documentation.
Since this upgrade comes with a repository change, we request you to carefully follow the instructions in our upgrading information from 7 to 8.
