Welcome to the Wikibase Community User Group mailing list.  This list is to support activities related to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikibase_Community_User_Group .  More importantly, the list also serves as a place to discuss technical issues related to the Wikibase software by people and organizations who have their own installs that operate outside the Wikimedia Foundation ecosystem.

The Wikibase Community User Group was founded by Laura Hale and Miguel Paraz.  Laura, that's me, is based in Madrid, Spain while Miguel is based in Melbourne, Australia.  Our primary work is on https://para-sports.es/ , a project about disability rights and disability sports.  Miguel has done some tool development related to bulk uploading, along with maximizing server resources for what amounts to an enterprise level amount of data.  I do most of the data entry, data organization, data cleanup, and writing queries bit.

We have a slack channel at https://parasports.slack.com/ .  If anyone wants an invite, please let me know. We prefer slack to IRC as it is easier to share files and maintain searchable archives of conversations.  There were a lot of issues we ran into that we discussed in the main channel that may be of interest to people doing their own installs.

Please feel free to ask questions, share any issues you may have about the Wikibase software, share what you're doing as others would probably find it helpful as they deal with similar issues.  (I believe our current issue involves caching of queries using RAM when server space is limited, and having to manually clear it but that side isn't my strength so probably not explaining it correctly.)
