Dear community members, 

Despite our efforts, and with much progress behind the scenes, we regret that we won’t be able to release Wikibase Suite 1.38 in December. Although our engineers have put their hearts into this (and we want to express our deepest gratitude to them), our team simply reached its limits in December. 

We’re very aware that as of the recent Mediawiki 1.39 release, our latest Docker images are in parity only with a deprecated version of MediaWiki. This is far from ideal, but we’re steadily catching up to the great work done by our colleagues at The Wikimedia Foundation. 

Given all the progress we’ve made on Wikibase Suite 1.38 in December, we’re confident that we will be able to proceed with its release in the first half of January. Attaining parity with MediaWiki is Suite’s top engineering priority at the moment.
