Regarding the license is not a problem, we just want to use it as a library to access wikibase.

We are working on a project to move the data from PhiloBiblon (https://bancroft.berkeley.edu/philobiblon/, based on a proprietary database) to the Factgrid wikibase (https://database.factgrid.de), and the second part is to create a new customized site to search, show and edit items of Philobiblon doing queries to Factgrid wikibase. This site will be implemented using node.js and Vue.

In this case it seems more appropriate to use wikibase-sdk and wikibase-edit libraries, any suggestions will be well appreciated.

I *suspect* the official API is oriented primarily towards tasks performed by the UI and other components developed by WMDE. That may mean it is available as part of a MediaWiki site, but it may not cover the use-case you require, or deliver it in a way that you'd like to consume it.

wikibase-sdk seems to support "simplify" functionality as shown in https://github.com/maxlath/wikibase-sdk/tree/main/docs - conversely, if you want to edit, you need https://github.com/maxlath/wikibase-edit instead (but maybe you don't?). Similarly, it looks to have features for returning JSON from SPARQL, if you have a query service. As this is not part of the MediaWiki side of things, it looks like this is not covered in the official API. If you can share some aspect of your use-case and/or the expected execution environment (a gadget on a site? A node.js web-app accessing Wikidata remotely? Video game client?) it might help people offer more specific advice.
