As they say, "it should work", but...

Is ISO 639-1 code property of type External identifier?
Does the item representing the language have a two letter value in a statement with the code concerned? (This might be an issue because there is no ISO 639-1 code for Akkadianb; I'm not sure what happens if you enter an invalid one.)
When the language in question is entered do you get a "Spelling variant of this Lemma" appear? (This suggests a language code may not have been recognised. I tend to use 'mis' here.)

Perhaps someone with more experience with language setup can chime in.

[Incidentally your mail was spam filed here, possibly because a first and last name was not set/detected, just email address.]

Best regards,

Subject: [Wikibase-cloud] Basic question about creating lexemes

Hello,

I have started a wikibase-cloud project in which I want to create lexemes for a custom language that is currently not fully supported by Wikidata (Akkadian). However, even creating lexemes in a basic language like English seems to lead to problems. I have followed instructions on the wikibase help site for enabling the creation of lexemes (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/Wikibase.cloud/Wikibase_settings), including mapping properties for ISO 639-1 code, and creating Q-items for English and Akkadian (and mapping those to corresponding Q-items on Wikidata). However, on the 'Create Lexeme' page, no matter what I put for the 'Lexeme's language' field (Q-items for English, Akkadian, or anything else) the system always says 'There are problems with some of your input'.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? It seems incredible that creating a lexeme in a default wikibase-cloud project should be so difficult.
