This is an update on the timeline for Wikimedia Deutschland’s launch of Wikibase.cloud. We are planning to start the closed beta of Wikibase.cloud in mid-April. 

Today, we reached out to all WBstack users who previously signaled their interest in migrating to Wikibase.cloud. Once users have accepted our Terms of Service, we will begin to migrate WBstack wikis to Wikibase.cloud in batches.

Once the migration is complete, we will focus on inviting more people into the Wikibase.cloud closed beta. If you want to apply for closed beta access, please register with this form. We'll consider each application on its merits, but we'll give greater consideration to projects aligned with our movement and Linked Open Data strategies.

Given that this is the first time we are providing a Software as a Service, we want to increase platform use gradually. This will allow us to learn in a somewhat controlled setting and grow sustainably, ensuring that Wikibase.cloud empowers knowledge holders as quickly as possible to share their data with Wikibase.
