Dear all,
Wikimedia Poland and Wikimedia Ukraine are planning to organise a conference *in 2026*, focused on *research and community collaboration in the CEE region*.
The event will connect researchers studying and using Wikimedia projects (with focus on Wikidata and Wikipedia) with the wider Wikimedia community. It will be a space to exchange ideas, learn more about each other and find ways of working together.
Are you:
-
Interested in how research or academic partnerships could work? -
Curious about current Wikimedia-related research, especially in the CEE region? -
A Wikidata editor, considering new connections and project ideas? -
A researcher using Wikidata or working on Wikimedia topics, especially in the CEE region?
If so, we would love to hear from you! Please take 15-20 minutes to fill out our survey and help us shape this event. The survey is a key part of the grant application process, and your input is important to make the event relevant & meaningful. We particularly welcome contributions from the CEE region but are also curious to hear from everyone (there is a space in the survey to make the distinction).
Please also forward this survey to others who might be interested.

We are gathering responses until 10 August. You can send any questions (in English, Polish or Ukrainian) to the organising team: katarzyna.makowska@wikimedia.pl

Kasia
