I wanted to share this project that I have just proposed for a project
grant:

I am proposing this work as part of a team of 3 researchers from
Eurecat, a research center in Barcelona.
Our aim is to study editor's lifecycle to identify factors associated
with editors leaving the project and make what we discover available
through dashboards that can be used by the communities to plan further
actions.
We plan to study interaction metrics over time, and quantify different
aspects of editor experience along editors' lifecycle. We will devote
special attention to underrepresented groups of users, according to
aspects such as gender, country, and native language.
We aim to build on the state of the art, and to involve the community as
much as possible when choosing on which metrics we should focus on.
