I was there in the thickest: at a bar in North Beach (Vesuvio: the Beats old hangout) ... with Jim Cherry and Cynthia, who were in town for a programming conference or something. Took the BART home, we'd just won (oops, sore spot?), and it was full of crazy fans: chanting all the way with glee ... and the game wasn't even in SF yet! Sorry for you Rangers fans. No, really.

David -- can you see the World Series lights from your place? Hear the cheers across the bay?
I missed it but just heard that Tony Bennett sang "I Left My Heart..." before the game....

We dedicated many cocktails to many people -- and I'm pretty sure everyone was mentioned by name. While chopping potato salad and julienning thai cabbage slaw, we even sang a couple of rounds of "Here's a health ... What was I supposed to be doing upside down? I didn't demonstrate too much sottish behavior, by like passing out in my own backyard, if that's what you mean.

Well well well. How could you all be having so much fun while I was listening to people talk about the next nonviolent revolution? Not that that wasn't...okay, it wasn't FUN, but it was RIVETING, and I bow to my youngers and their energy and drive to right the world from its upside downness.
THANKS, Zig, for the voluminous photo album. And speaking of FUN, and did you get upside down??< please say everyone dedicated at least one cocktail each to we who were not there!
Love to all, A

Okay, so it wasn't Zig's garden-by-the-Bay in Oakland, but you may recognize the structure in the background -- four of us were among the folks who came out to Winedale to see the Actors from the London Stage perform "Midsummer" earlier this month. Doc was there too but we weren't able to snag him for this photo..._______________________________________________ Weeklong-l mailing list Weeklong-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/weeklong-l
