Hello, all,
I have a short message that I need translated into these languages:
Arabic, Catalan, Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Norwegian, Spanish, Polish, and Thai
The message is at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk_pages_consultation_2019/Communication/Re...
A "strict" translation is NOT needed. I've tried to make the message simple to translate, but it might seem a bit boring now. Please feel free to adjust the wording if there is a more natural or friendly way to say this in your language.
These will (we hope) be hand-delivered to some newer editors, wiki by wiki, shortly after each translation is done. The links will be changed individually to links that are relevant for the local community.
And, finally, we haven't heard from many translators in this consultation! Translators' needs are unique and important. My own teammates would say that the key to the whole movement, and I can't disagree with them. :-D So please also click that link and tell the talk-page consultation team: What do YOU need to be able to communicate on the wikis?

I think the latter phrase is incomplete. Do you mean that ‘translators are the key to the whole movement’? (I think that Wikimedia could actually live without us but then it would clearly lack something to achieve its mission. Anyway, among all the Wikimedia volunteer contributors, there are obviously people willing to translate.)
So please also click that link and tell the talk-page consultation team: What do YOU need to be able to communicate on the wikis?
My needs are actually basic and I’m satisfied by the current system. Thanks anyway for asking.

Without you, volunteer translators, we can't involve an many people as we can now. So yes, you're key people. So we really need your opinion about talk pages and communication tools https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk_pages_consultation_2019/Participant_group_sign-up#Participant_groups. For instance, what would you imagine to involve more people?

In reaction to this insistance, I’ve spent my evening writing the probably longest answers to the consultation, so I deeply hope you’ll fully read them.
:)
Done for Norwegian Bokmål and Norwegian Nynorsk. (You probably only meant the former, but it would be nice if you could also include the latter while you're at it. :-) )

Done for German. I don‘t see the 5 questions anywhere on German Wikipedia. Where are they prepared? Any need for translation as well?
Alice.

Hello Alice, and thank you for your help.
The questions on German Wikipedia are here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Projektdiskussion/Globale_Konsultati... .
Could you send a message to your community to have more people participating to the consultation? Apparently, not everyone has viewed the announcement.
Thank you, Benoît
