Hi there.

I have translated the guideline to Japanese. What I have noticed during the translation is that while some sections like "Wikimedia terminology" are useful in clarifying the variety of terms that causes confusion, the "Formatting" section does not have much use outside of English. For example, we do not separate sentences with spaces in Chinese, nor do we care about serial commas in Japanese; quotation marks have lots of variety across languages, as stated in [[w:en:Quotation mark]]. Therefore, in my opinion, we should either state clearly that this document only applies to English, or add guidelines for other languages.

However, I still appreciate the work on making the communications clear - thank you very much for that.

Hello amazing translators!

The Wikimedia Foundation Communications department has over the past several months gathered together information on communicating about the Foundation and our work. We also made some improvements to that information, based in part on feedback provided by some of you over the years.

While we would, of course, welcome any translations - I am primarily interested in your thoughts on how what is provided in these guidelines will work across languages. It would also be helpful for us to know if there are areas that would be helpful to develop specific translation information or guidelines for.

We consider these guidelines to be a "living document" meaning that we anticipate it receiving regular updates and improvements. So your feedback will help us form the next round of updates. :)

Thank you in advance for any feedback you may have. You can either email me directly, post them here, or on the talk page.
