I’m Johanna from Wikimedia Germany’s Technical Wishes team. We’re soon releasing ReferencePreviews as a new beta feature to many wikis, and I plan to announce this on village pumps beforehand. ReferencePreviews show previews of footnotes in the article text. This way, you don’t have to jump down to the bottom of a page to look up a footnote. The feature has been in the beta phase on German and Arabic Wikipedia for some months, and it will now become a beta feature on all Wikipedias and a few Wikivoyages.
