Hi Andrew and all,

I have noticed the updates on Share-a-fact movies on YouTube.

As for the Android version,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM-CguGXWk8
Japanese caption is not incorporated.

And as for the iPhone version,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtZVpsjEWl4
Japanese caption IS incorporated, but timecode seems broken and is not fitted to the voice.
(I originally thought that the caption would be used only for Android version, so I included
the translation of the on-screen text of "Available Now on Android". Sorry for that, please
remove the last sentence from the caption of iPhone version.)

Anyway, here's the Japanese caption.
http://www.amara.org/en/videos/0z3GJUd8n1qD/ja/962056/

Here's an .srt format:

1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:01,810
ウィキペディアアプリから

2
00:00:01,810 --> 00:00:03,890
引用を画像でシェアできるのを
ご存じですか?

3
00:00:03,890 --> 00:00:06,214
ウィキペディアの記事から
テキストを選択

4
00:00:07,078 --> 00:00:08,508
そしてシェアをタップすると

5
00:00:08,738 --> 00:00:11,928
アプリがウィキペディアの記事の
トップ画像を背景にして

6
00:00:11,928 --> 00:00:13,828
テキスト入り画像を生成します

7
00:00:15,353 --> 00:00:20,403
Android版でご利用になれます

Here's Japanese (ja). Note that there's no "facts" concept in Japanese, I translated that word such as "quotes".

"ウィキペディアアプリから画像で引用をシェアできるのをご存知ですか?
ウィキペディアの記事から文を選択し、アプリの「シェア」ボタンをタップすると、その記事のトップ画像を背景として、テキストを重ねた画像が生成されます。"

As you said, as this will be a caption, the translation way will be little bit different than usual text translation (at least in Japanese).
I'm an experienced Amara user and I will prepare "caption" version soon.

Hello :),

My name is Andrew, I am a new Digital Communications Intern on the Communications team at Wikimedia Foundation. I help edit and publish for our Wikimedia blog, produce digital media, and help with other general communications tasks.

We have a short paragraph that needs to be translated:

" Did you know that you can now share facts as images from the Wikipedia app? Start by selecting text in any Wikipedia article. Then select share and the app creates an image with the text using the top image from the Wikipedia article as a background. "

This short script will become captions for a video to be released later this week.

Here are a few languages we would like help translating to: Russian
Spanish, French, Arabic, German, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese.

Any other languages are welcome and appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email. Thank you in advance for all your help and support.

Best,

--
