The existing translations will be posted on the wikis in that language. There may be a few more edits by Friday, but the existing content should generally remain fairly stable. I think that there's something missing from "Alternative 1", since there's this phrase: Amnesty International reports that our fellow Wikipedian [[:en:Bassel Khartabil|Bassel Khartabil]] [$amnestylinknl] by the Syrian government. I think that after " [$amnestylinknl " should be written something to explain the link

Hi Vassia, I believe the banner as a whole will be linking to the landing page, so placing a link inside the banner itself might not be possible technically. Greg Varnent is taking the lead on this, so he'll be in a better position to explain the details. If you can include the link inside the Bulgarian translation of the landing page in some clever way, then that should be fine; whatever works for you, really. Otherwise you will of course be able to include that link in your communication on social media and to real media. I'll start working on a template of a press release when I get home in the evening. Free Bassel waiting for translation (high priority page)

Hi everyone, it’s been a while. Today I'm requesting translation of the page [[Free Bassel]], which is to be the landing page linked from a CentralNotice banner campaign informing our readers about the dire situation of Bassel Khartabil, a fellow Wikipedia volunteer and open source software developer who might be facing death penalty imposed by the Syrian government. Please kindly take some time to translate the page; in my notification set just a while ago on Meta-Wiki, I set 30 November as the deadline for the translation, but really do hope the page might be translated earlier than that, as Bassel's situation really is of the utmost urgency. There is also the text of the banner waiting to be translated at <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Banner:Free_Bassel>, so your help is needed in that too. For the moment, Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German are languages of top priority for us given their usage by the United Nations and their popularity in the world, but translations into any other language are of course also welcome. I know the Ukrainian, Russian and Japanese translators (and others!) also like to see pages translated into their languages, so please do work on this, too, if you’ve got some time to spare. Quick Translation Request: Harassment Survey Central Notice banner

Hey all, We're going to start rolling out a survey about on-wiki harassment tomorrow (it will roll out to different languages throughout the next week or so) and would love your help on getting the banner translated before it goes. - You can translate the banner in the translation interface on meta <https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=Centra…> . - Here is a preview of the banner being displayed in English <https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fundraising_2011/Karthik_Lette…> . - The text itself: - We invite you to participate in a survey about online harassment on Wikimedia projects. - Survey powered by Qualtrics - *Note:* The "Survey powered by Qualtrics" part is broke into 2 parts. A non-linked part and a linked part (which goes 2nd) that automatically links to the Qualtrics privacy policy. In the English version only the word "Qualtrics" is linked but you should feel free to adjust that if needed for your language. At least one language so far (Japanese) links that entire line by putting a non breaking space (" ") into the 1st, non-linked, section "Survey powered by" and the entire translation into the 2nd, linked, piece. Missing translations on Thanks and Echo extensions

Links are set on English, don't forget to switch to your language; you may have more messages missing depending on your language. *Details* Presentation models for eight extensions who deal with notifications are going to be changed in a near future: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T116834 The five missing translations are the first: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T117966 That explains why you may have seen some messages in English on the notifications panel on your wiki. We are going to communicate earlier on these changes, in order to avoid this kind of problem.
