the tunnels were switched and runs now over browne. So the replag should decrease soon. Thanks to Tim and Brion for the fast help :).

As we are now making it mandatory for new users to fill in their .about.me files (see http://tools.wikimedia.de/~leon/ toolserver), .about.me for older users must also be created. The following users have not created their .about.me files:
Non existent: ['akl', 'alex', 'alterego', 'apper', 'avar', 'banane', 'bayo', 'beland', 'brion', 'd', 'didi', 'edwardzyang', 'elian', 'erik', 'fschulenburg', 'gmaxwell', 'gunther', 'hoodedman', 'kmartin', 'pgk', 'phroziac', 'porao', 'ral315', 'samkorn', 'stridvall', 'tawker', 'tony_sidaway', 'werdna', 'yurik'] Results: Out of a total of 71 users, 42 have broken/non- existent .about.me scripts.

I suppose it depends on how many tools use the data. For what it's worth, TSTOC now uses it (http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/tstoc).
~voj/.about.me suggests that their homepage is http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Nichtich, which isn't quite right.
I could resort to my own overrides+defaults of user-specified data, but that's not necessarily optimal...
