Hi Karl,
Idea sounds cool to me, but I've 2 little things:
1: Isn't it to early for a newsletter? I mean, it might be fun for 3 times
or something, but after that period, it might become annoying work. And what
from the around 8,500 articles would you pick every week? Most books are
related, which reduces the subjects were you can talk about, so that you
maybe haven't enough articles to bring in some new news in the newsletter.
2: The newsletter seems a bit English orientated. That's logical, because
you (Karl Wick), as English speaking person, have been the only editor of it
for so far. I'm from the Dutch Wikibooks myself and I'm under no illusions
about our articlecount in comparison with the English books, but maybe there
should be some news from the German Wikibooks. I think there are enough
Germans on this list to add something?
After all, if there will become more people involved in this newsletter, it
might be an interesting project. It's a pity that I've no time for the
coming 2 months, because of my preliminary examinations. But after that,
maybe I've time to add some very little things about the Dutch Wikibooks.
Yours sincerly,
Koos Jol

Subject: [Textbook-l] Wikibooks Newsletter
I'd like to try out an idea to have a periodic newsletter, maybe every
two weeks or so. Here is the trial version:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikibooks:Newsletter
Help me make it better so we can send it out.
I think that a periodic review of what we are doing will help us
gather forces and get people more excited about what is being done.
Thanks,
Karl
