Hi Lars,
my mediawiki2latex tool does print the links into the pdf files, so that
they are still readable after printing. You need to use at version 7.21
to work with the version of mediawiki currently installed on wikipedia.
So you either need to use the windows version or compile from source on
debian or ubuntu. Version 7.22 will be included the new version of
Ubunut comming out in April. I also got an undocumented feature in
mediawiki2latex which generates html suitable for import in libreoffice
or calibre.

The on-demand PDF version of the wikibooks generates
references without
showing any embedded URLs. Currently it is only embedded as a
hyperlink. It would be very helpful for the PDF to contain the URL
itself in addition to being a hyperlink.
So if I have the following reference:
<ref name="Hansteen_PF">{{cite web |url=http://home.nuug.no/~peter/pf/
|title=Firewalling with PF |author=Peter N M Hansteen |year=2011}}</ref>
It renders like this in PDF:
1. Peter N M Hansteen (2011). "Firewalling with PF"
What would be much more useful would be for it to show something like
this instead:
1. Peter N M Hansteen (2011). "Firewalling with PF"
http:///home.nuug.no/~peter/pf/
such that the URL is also visible.
Where should I file a request for such a wishlist item or bug report?
Or is that something already possible and I just need to give the right
parameters?
Regards,
Lars
