Hello all,
In the past week, we have published a number of reports and discussion summaries related to the research the Wikimedia Foundation and other groups have done into New Voices (formerly referred to as tracks C and D). This includes the following pages, each of which I encourage interested participants to read and those with translation abilities to consider translating:
- Lagos, Nigeria strategy salon with Media Entrepreneurs - May 25, 2017 https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Sources/Ventures_Africa_and_Wikimedia_Dinner_on_Future_of_Free_Knowledge,_Day_1 - Lagos, Nigeria strategy salon with Media Entrepreneurs - May 26, 2017 https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Sources/Ventures_Africa_and_Wikimedia_Dinner_on_Future_of_Free_Knowledge,_Day_2 - Lagos, Nigeria strategy salon with Education Entrepreneurs - May 30, 2017 https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Sources/Ventures_Africa_and_Wikimedia_Dinner_on_Future_of_Free_Knowledge,_Day_3 - Nairobi, Kenya strategy salon with technology experts - May 29, 2017 https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Sources/Nairobi,_Kenya_strategy_salon_with_technology_experts_-_May_29,_2017 - Wikimedia Polska Strategy Dinner - Warsaw June 5, 2017 https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Sources/Cycle_2/Wikimedia_Polska_Strategy_Dinner_-_Warsaw_June_5,_2017 - Indonesia and Brazil research findings draft May 2017 https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Sources/Indonesia_research_findings_draft_May_2017
Also new this week are two additions to the list of toolkits available to help discussion organizers:
- "Virtual" or video/teleconference session https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Toolkit/Discussion_guide/Virtual - Online but off-wiki (e.g. WhatsApp, Facebook) discussion https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Toolkit/Discussion_guide/Social_media
If you are able to offer some help translating these new pages, it would be much appreciated!
Yours, Karen Brown
