Realistically we're not going to be able to write up a whole new blog post but we can definitely resocialise the 2013 one.

I'm agreeing with Tilman. I will actually be attending an event in his memory at the Internet Archive tomorrow night, where they are having also a hackathon around the event during the day.  I would say, this would be a good time to mention any victories in regards to science journals becoming more accessible. In the middle of work, but wanted to chime in on this one more from how impactful it was for me to go to his funeral.  It is actually one of the reasons I got more involved in wikipedia and other causes.

Actually, we already published a blog post at the time, which did very well when it was reposted on social media last year (Michael did that, IIRC, and may have numbers still). So for that purpose, a new post doesn't really seem necessary.

How about writing a new up-to-date post instead that maps how Wikimedians have hold up and continued to be influenced by Aaron's memory, enabling us to incorporate information from after mid-January 2013?  I could offer some photos from Wikimania 2014 for illustrations.

This Sunday would have been Aaron Swartz's 29th birthday—a Wikipedian and social activist who died in 2013. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Swartz.

I'd like to publish a blog post about Aaron that day—specifically, updating and republishing the article I wrote for the Signpost two years ago after his death. However, I'm looking for opinions on whether this is a good or poor idea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2013-01-14/Special_report

Please feel free to send me your thoughts directly if you would rather not express them on a public list.

Thanks, everyone.
