So we should talk about languages on Facebook. You can set your language on Facebook (including to Pirate, BTW), and see all the Facebook text in that native tongue. You can follow accounts that are in your chosen language.

If something pops up that is not in your set language, Facebook offers translations below that text with a click. If you want to see that, check out the French government's verified page here:

https://www.facebook.com/gouvernement.fr

So if we post something in English that is seen by someone whose Facebook is set to another language, they can click to have it translated.

We could target people from another country or language and translate for them, but they would be people who have followed our page in English previously. They might appreciate the gesture, but that's basically what it would be.

That doesn't mean we can't do it. But we have a hard time sometimes just getting out basic posts in one language. : )

What about?

In honor of John Lennon's 75th birthday, we share this Marx-Lennon stamp from Abkhazia in the former Soviet Union, which is in the public domain on Wikimedia Commons.

Upon further review, I wonder if it's weird to congratulate John Lennon on "Yesterday"? Should we go really straight on him, like this?

John Winston Lennon was born on this day in 1940 in Liverpool, England. More on his life:    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lennon

I'm waiting for the bus into the office. Want to post it, Joe?

If we can fit them in, it could do with a comma and some quote marks:

Happy 75th birthday John Lennon, and congratulations on the 50th anniversary of "Yesterday" hitting #1 in the US   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lennon

I'm in a lecture at the moment (because when I go back to school for reunion i somehow get talked into a lecture ;) ) about the study of the Beatles and they just mentioned some anniversaries I thought could be interesting for quick tweets.

Today (October 9) is both the 50th anniversary of the Beatles song Yesterday first hitting #1 in the US ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yesterday_(Beatles_song) ) as well as John Lennon's 75th birthday (  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lennon ).

Random draft (John Lennon is an FA and trending so probably best article to use):

Happy 75th birthday John Lennon and congratulations on the 50th anniversary of Yesterday hitting #1 in the US   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lennon
