Actually, doesn't the blog post say that the project is about
cataloging existing (non-VE) gadgets, and then adapt them for use with
VE? Also, the project seems to have completed the cataloging part
already (even though it's not quite clear where the full list
resides).
So I would suggest something like this instead for FB/G+ instead
(still needs to be shortened for Twitter of course):
Wikipedians use numerous small tools (gadgets) that help them do their
daily editing work. Read about a project to catalogue these gadgets
and make them usable in the new VisualEditor interface:
