Thanks to Samir Elsharbaty for writing this inspiring story - and to Andrew for his help in publishing it.

The well-designed structure of these WikiCamps seems to have made them particularly successful — and I like that students were encouraged to divide their time between editing Wikipedia and physical activities. It’s that type of thoughtful planning that can make a world of difference in all our programs. :)

Here are our ideas for social media messages for this story:

• WikiCamps introduce young Armenians to Wikipedia, in a cool new program from @wikimedia_am. Last summer, 135 students ages 14-20 learned to edit Wikipedia, as well as practice sports, music and dance. (link)

• How old do you need to be to start contributing to Wikipedia? Last summer, 135 young adults ages 14-20 created 5,425 new articles while attending Wiki Camps, a promising new program from Wikimedia Armenia. (link)

• Wikimedia Armenia’s WikiCamp program exceeds expectation by instilling a passion for Wikipedia in young adults ages 14-20. Last summer, 135 students created 5,425 new articles as a result. (link)
