I think Alex' drafts weren't bad (except for exceeding the Twitter
character limit again ;) and would already have reached a substantial
number of Wikimedians and observers who are somewhat aware of the
problem that Wikipedia citation rules often prevent the inclusion of
indigenous knowledge , but I have to agree with Katherine that many
other people might be left out without context. Trying to make it a
bit clearer:

FB:G+: Wikipedia relies on citing written sources, but indigenous
knowledge is often only available in form of oral traditions. A new
Wikimedia grant funds a workshop that will explore how Wikipedia
articles could benefit from such "oral citations", to diversify and
increase the quality of Wikimedia content.

T: Wikipedia relies on written sources. A WMF-funded workshop explores
how oral indigenous knowledge could be used, too
