I changed my mind: it works now in the complete regular list (1 to 3999)
vice and versa, and has a list comprehension function. I made it as a
separate module, and I would like you to add it to the Pywikipedia
framework, because I will need it to TOCbot, and it is too big and too nice
to leave inside the script. I am not familiar with creating version numbers,
please do that for me.

I wrote a piece of code that can transform numbers
*to* and* from* Roman
numbers from 1 to 999 (because they are regular in this range).
Is anybody interested to put it in some core modul? Then I can make it a
bit nicer. I saw them in date.py until XXX as a pure list.
