Please update your bot first. Current release is r9843 and we couldn't examine that old stuff. As login.py worked as well, API is on. Please again create a new family file with the new release and try the command
login.py -test
This should determine whether the not is still logged in. If this does nothing, try
login.py -test -v
which prints additional I formations and give us the results and the new results of version.py too.

Betreff: [Pywikipedia-l] Does Mediawiki 1.17 break old version pywikiapedia?

For what it is worth, here is the version I'm running and one of the actual
errors...

Pywikipedia (r8466 (wikipedia.py), 2010/08/27, 20:27:07)
Python 2.7 (r27:82525, Jul 4 2010, 09:01:59) [MSC v.1500 32 bit (Intel)]

which of course then fails, goes to 2 minutes..., 3 minutes..., etc...

I tried to generate a new family file, which returned my API probably isn't
on. Untrue, I use AutowikiBot all the time, worked great with 1.16 and now
with 1.17 upgrade.

I never could get pywikipedia to work with another 1.16 wiki I admin, so I
gave up completely using pywikipedia on it. I am about at this point, and
ready to write pywikipedia off completely as I have never, ever had a
problem using autowikiBot. It just works and works extremely well.

Now when I type in login.py or login.py -help or login.py -family:mywiki it
just returns to the command prompt, pywikipedia>, so login.py is now broken.

Thanks for any help---
Tom
