I'm happy to announce that replace.py has been ported to the rewrite branch. I encourage testing of this port; please report any bugs you find (the bug tracker now has a "rewrite" category to be used for this purpose).

If this goes smoothly, expect other frequently-used scripts to be ported after the holidays.
