Not a stupid question. Yes, that would be faster. Using the API, however, is even better, and this is exactly what is done in the rewrite.<div>As such, I would suggest not to implement this in the trunk - the current version works, albeit slow. If this is really a problem for you, upgrade to the rewrite.</div>
