Hi,
this is a great contribution, go on!
For the first two: yes and yes. I have no information about the 3rd.

Hi all,

The group from my computer science class is hoping to contribute to enhancing accessibility (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Accessibility_guide_for_developers). Our first thought is to write a script related to checking and updating the alt attribute on images. A few questions:

- Is this valuable to the community?
- Can user created scripts become part of the official code base?
- I don't see any current features related to accessibility, but I'm a n00b. Am I missing something that's already there?

Thanks!
Accessibility is important for our users and we can improve it if we take into account a few basic ideas and rules. Accessibility is difficult insofar as there are no fixed and universally accepted technical standards that actually work consistently and for all users.
