Dear Jeremy and Ziski,
Thanks for your message. I take the liberty to reply to you on behalf of WMCH 🙂 We would love to attend but unfortunately both Jenny and I will not be around on the 19th.
We would love to stay up to date, though, and would gladly join any other meetings of this kind.
Have a great week, Clara

Dear all,
Thank you for taking the time to join us last week for the *2025 Advocacy Network Launch Call.* This emails provides a recap and summary of next steps (see also notes in Etherpad https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/Agenda_%26_Notes,_Global_Advocacy_Conversation_Hours), including how to get involved if you missed the call.
*Call outcomes* We established three working groups.
1. *Develop a common language: *Definition, differences and implications of "Open", "Digital Public Goods" and "Commons", etc. 🫡 Lead: @Catalina Frigerio catalina.frigerio@wikimediachile.cl. 2. *Copyright: *This group will work on a plan to raise awareness about how Copyright rules impact Wikimedians' work across projects, while also identifying specific legislation to push for/against at the national level. 🫡 Lead: @Olushola Olaniyan olaniyanshola15@gmail.com 3. *Policy position primers: *This group will develop 3-5 pagers on Wikimedia's core policy priorities, including why these topics matter for our movement, talking points, examples of advocacy work on the topic, and further reading resources. 🫡 Lead: @Jeremy Bernick jbernick-ctr@wikimedia.org
*Next steps*
- *Working groups: *The leads are responsible for officially launching each working group. Action: The leads should organize monthly calls (or whatever frequency the group decides) that are open to anyone who wishes to work on that topic; during these calls each group should advance work on a specific project they decide is important for the advocacy network. I recommend everyone reach out to the leads if you wish to join their group. - *Quarterly advocacy network calls: *We will have quarterly calls for the entire group. Ziski will help with scheduling and moderation, but the agenda is up to you! Action: Please fill out this Doodle poll https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/dNXqZ4Na by March 10 to set our next time.
Best, Ziski

Would love to hear more about the goals of this working group. I don’t have a ton of time to participate, but there’s definitely tons of resources on this from a variety of sources as well as good people from outside the movement who might be interested.
Hi Luis,
Thank you for your interest. The starting point for the working group is to agree on definitions (and understand their importance) while sharing and organizing relevant resources. We also need to define what the group's output will be.
Thank you, Zisky, for your email and for organizing the calls.
Regarding the Building a Common Language group, I would like to invite anyone interested in participating to reach out to me directly at catalina.frigerio@wikimediachile.cl. This is especially relevant for those who were unable to attend the call on February 19, as their input would be valuable in shaping our discussions.
I look forward to continuing these conversations and working together.
Best regards, Catalina Frigerio WMCL
