Hello, everybody!Today civil society organisations had a meeting with the EU IPO's Observatory [1]. One of the main objectives of the Observatory is to produce academic studies in the field of IPR that help policy makers in Brussels make evidence based decisions.Upon joining the Observatory Wikimedia requested a study on the "Contribution of the public domain and open licensing to the European economy". As the scope of this seemed extremely broad, the Observatory decided to work on a study called "Public Domain in the Film Industry" analysing how much of the film industry is based on PD content. This study has now been peer reviewed and should be available before 5 May.We have successfully convinced the Observatory to include a second study on the public domain & open licenses in the 2017 work programme. The challenge now is to find a good aspect that could be researched. It needs to be specific and not overly broad. This is what I need your help with! If you can think of a good subject to share with the Observatory research team, please let me know. They are quite open to taking our ideas, comments and feedback into account.Thank you and cheers,Dimi
