Hi Željko,

the plan is to continue the panel series with the public broadcaster as media partner, next edition probably on disinformation in the current election dynamics in Germany, and to also have other public / semi-public events in the broader context of knowledge equity (community fora, lectures ...). The a/v media coming out of this are usually pushed to Youtube, now also in partly to podcast platforms and also WM Commons is on the radar for that, but WMDE so far mainly relies on its own website to build a thematic frame for the things the chapter does on k. e.  There will be a thematic page on knowledge equity on the website soon and probably also a project page on the event series.

Best

Brilliant!

Emilia is a super articulate speaker and pragmatic leader.
I will try my sub-optimal Deutsch to listen...
Could you share a plan of what is to be expected?

On the side note, is there a good practice of publishing media co-produced (like podcasts) by Wikimedia entities on Wikimedia platforms in some kind of systematic tehamtic way?
Wikimedia Commons does not have good entrances into fields like Wikipedia has with Portal: namespaces...no?

Hi all,

as mentioned during the Lean BXL Meeting, WMDE just started an event series discussing questions around the distribution of knowledge and thus power in the tradition of the Wikimedia Salon and in cooperation with with Deutschlandfunk Kultur (Radio station focusing on cultural topics, reaching 4.41 million listeners daily).

Our guests at the first edition on July 1:

Dr. Emilia Zenzile Roig, Founder and Executive Director Center for Intersectional Justice, political scientist and book author "Why we matter. The End of Oppression."

Dr. Christian Humborg, Executive Director Wikimedia Deutschland e.V.

Moderated by Christine Watty, editor at DLF Kultur.

The conversation (in german) was broadcast on the radio and it is available as a podcast including an article at Deutschlandfunk Kultur. The video of the conversation is available on our Youtube channel. If you like it, share it with your networks! Emilia Roig was already featured with an interview in the publication "The ABC of Free Knowledge".

The idea is to stimulate a broader public debate on issues related with knowledge equity as a fundamental strategic goal of the Wikimedia Strategy 2030.

A website is being created with more background info. We plan on having discussions for example on the role of Wikidata in the knowledge society of the future and much more. Feedback is very welcome!

Greetings
Lilli
