I've already had the pleasure of interacting with Milan on disinformation stuff -- so I can attest to him having hit the ground running!

Hello, also, to Catalina!

👏🎊💫 Welcome 👏🎊💫 to both Milan and Catalina!

It is an absolute pleasure to watch you both come on board to help protect and promote the free knowledge movement, from Europe to Latin America. Welcome to the movement, and welcome to this mailing list. We're looking forward to getting updates from both of you and I hope you get a chance to meet some of the other great people on this list.

All the best,

Ziski

Dear all,

I hope you are all doing great. And thank you Milan for introducing yourself.

Imitating Milan´s initiative, I will also present myself: My name is Catalina Frigerio, and I recently joined Wikimedia's Chile team as Public Policy Manager.

I am currently working on a governance document and following up the (second) Chilean constitutional process, which will open to citizen participation in June, among other projects.

I am a lawyer with an IP/Data protection background specialized in digital tech policy at UCL. I love to travel and learn, so I hope to meet some of you in person or at other online events and meetings soon 🙂

Warm regards,
Catalina

Welcome, Milan! I hope to have you visit us in Brussels in not too long, and if Wikimedia Europe General Assembly comes first - then definitely looking forward to seeing you in Prague.
We are so happy to have you :)

Dear all,

This is something I should have done earlier, though better now than never 😊

At the end of 2022, Wikimedia Czech Republic established an advocacy coordinator position with the aim to pursue advocacy activities, in addition to its community/partnership/education activities.

Hence, I got interested and ultimately became part of the local team. It took me some time to get around in the Wiki and generally NGO environment but since January I feel like getting a touch of things.

Some 6 hours/week are dedicated for this role, which is not much, but for starters it’s fine and there is a lot to do!

Originally (and still), I’m an independent attorney-at-law for almost 15 years now with mainly IT/IP law practice.

Hope to see some of you in Prague in June 😉

Take care,

Milan
