More anti-NGO legislation planned in Hungary: the ruling party proposed new legislation (the "Stop Soros" package) on organizations supporting migration (defined as providing any kind of support, including creating or distributing information materials, to people entering Hungary with the aim of receiving international protection, or providing monetary support to an organization doing that). Such organizations would be required to get a permit and pay an extra 25% tax on foreign funds; the government can deny the permit in case they see the activity as detrimental to national security (purely educational or humanitarian work is declared to not be detrimental). Organizations supporting refugees without a permit can be fined or dissolved.
