Below is a copy of the email I just sent to Sadik. From my point of view, at least, this is worth sharing to a few more people.****************************************Hello, SadikIt was only a few hours ago that I saw or heard anything about Dagboni, Dagbonli, or the Kingdom of Dagbon.I'm currently working on a project with Peter Amoabil, who is the Director of Rural Literacy Solutions. We were talking via Zoom this morning and he told me that he had uploaded some books in Dagboni to the MoodleBox that my org had sent him. His students are excited to be able to read Dagboni via the WIFI devices that we've also donated to their project. We were discussing the next phase of the implementation of digital OER materials and teacher professional development. I was thrilled to learn that African Storybook had made OER books in Dagboni; Peter was, too. When I saw "Dagbani Wikimedians Usergroup" in the address of your post, I started scratching my head. "Had Peter somehow connected me to Sadik and his group?" "But, Peter wasn't included on the email post?" "Well, maybe Peter and Sadik know each other via some other source;" were some of the thoughts that bounced around in my head. What's the Dagboni word for delightful coincidences?DanI've also, in the last few hours, become a big fan of Rocky Dawuni :)On Mon, Nov 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM Sadik Shahadu <uniques.sadike@gmail.com> wrote:--Hello,
You’re the first to know that MozFest is officially accepting session ideas for our 2023 festival, through December 16, and the earlier you submit your idea, the better! You can learn more about the Call for Session Proposals process or submit your idea here.
2023 MozFest Spaces
Now that the Call for Proposals is open, I’m also thrilled to share this year’s Spaces. Think of Spaces at MozFest as mini-festivals. Within each Space, participants can find everything they need – interactive, community-led sessions, inspiring talks, art installations, lots of coffee, and community – all within a common theme. If you choose to submit a session proposal, you’ll need to decide on a Space in which to submit it.
Autonomy & Governance | Privacy, power, and data stewardship
Education & Access | You're the product of data
Humans Behind The Machine | Considering the humans below the algorithms
MoZone | Turning dreams of a better digital world into reality
Radical Inclusion Experience | Shaping AI to accommodate the diversity of humanity
Tech & Biodiversity: Legado 2060 | Exploring sustainable digital futures
Utility of Transparency | Promoting responsible and informative transparency
Youth Zone | Creating ripples of change for future generations
You can learn more about each MozFest Space here.
If you aren’t sure about your idea for a MozFest session, reply to this email and let’s chat. I’d love to hear from you. Otherwise, you can submit your session today.
Warm regards,
Sadik Shahadu.
