Hello everybody,

Coding da Vinci, the hackathon for open cultural data, brings actors from the worlds of culture and technology together in a collaborative format - to learn from each other and co-create exciting ideas and visions on the basis of open cultural data. In 2020 Coding da Vinci comes to the cross-border region Saar-Lor-Lux (including Saarland / Germany, Grand Est / France, Luxembourg as well as Wallonia / Belgium). For the first time, Coding da Vinci will not only cross the boundaries between culture and technology but move back and forth across national borders to explore and experiment with the fascinating world of open culture.

Onboarding Workshops

on February 12th, 2020 at Saarland Museum in Saarbruecken (D)

on February 13th, 2020 at BLIIIDA in Metz (F)

on February 28th, 2020 at CNA in Dudelange (LUX)

"Onboarding-Workshops" allow interested actors from cultural institutions in the greater Saar-Lor-Lux region to better understand how they can create and "open" their cultural data and make it available for use in the hackathon. Three workshops allow participants from across the region to discuss with open data experts what role open cultural data can play in strategies of audience and organizational development and become familiar with common data formats and open licenses.

Kick-Off on May 16-17th, 2020 at Technoport Belval in Esch-sur-Alzette (LUX)

During the two-day kick-off participants co-develop ideas, projects, and prototypes in mixed teams (combining the worlds of culture and technology). While a conventional hackathon leaves little time for project development, teams in Coding da Vinci Saar-Lor-Lux can continue to cooperate for seven weeks following the kick-off event.

See you in the Greater Region!
