Hello folks!

First, we wanted to apologize for cancelling last month call -- both January and scheduling made it challenging.

This is a reminder that our next call will take place on February 13th, Thursday, at 10 AM ET, 4 PM CET, 3 PM UTC. Make sure to check your time zone to attend! The call will take place in: http://uberconference.com/openglam

We will be providing some updates on the current status of the Declaration and a revised timeline. Our expectation was to launch the Declaration for the Creative Commons Global Summit, but different challenges made it hard to meet that deadline, especially considering that we want the document to be circulated with time among several communities of practice.

Also, remember that the application for the Creative Commons Global Summit is due soon! Original deadline was 12th February but deadline has been extended to 19th February. There’s an Open GLAM track, and we’re expecting to receive many proposals from this group!

This year there's an invitation to submit proposals that address the topics and issues outlined in the tracks below with a focus on actionable insights and outcomes, from case studies to workshops and storytelling sessions.

The Open GLAM track invites proposals that address the following:

Open Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums – Improving and expanding open access to cultural heritage

GLAM institutions are a core part of how we understand heritage and creativity. Open licensing is a key part to make cultural data and content available in an equitable and accessible way. This track explores Open GLAM today and discusses how communities active within the open movement can inspire and inform mindful, high-quality, and sustainable open access to cultural heritage.

The Summit will take place 14-16 May 2020, in Lisbon, Portugal. More information here: https://summit.creativecommons.org/

And another announcement: Open Knowledge Foundation has officially closed the open-glam@lists.okfn.org mailing list, so if you send an email there it won't work. We have the archives for the old mailing list.

See you on our Thursday call!
