Hi everyone,
I hope you are well!
The Wikimedia Foundation's Culture and Heritage team
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_Culture_and_Heritage_t…>
is
launching a *decision-making survey for GLAM-Wiki conferences*
<https://wikimediafoundation.limesurvey.net/671593?lang=en>.
The goal of this process is to gather input and data to decentralize
decision-making away from the Wikimedia Foundation and enable the GLAM-Wiki
community to take collective ownership of the conference. This may include
forming a steering committee and making key decisions, such as determining
the location of future conferences, their frequency, and other related
matters. The conference will still follow the Conference & Event Fund
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Community_Fund>
guidelines.
This survey will remain open until *June 30*. This survey contains 25
questions. If you would like to review the questions beforehand or have any
comments or concerns, please refer to this page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Conferences/Survey>.
Please review the privacy statement for this survey here
<https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Legal:Decision-Making_Framework_for_G…>
. *Privacy notice: *You can choose to share your contact information if you
would like to be informed of the results. The data is maintained solely to
create a decision-making framework for GLAM-Wiki conferences.
Thanks for your consideration. Your input in this survey is very important
and will help to improve the next GLAM-Wiki conferences!
Best regards,

Good evening,
The Europeana Foundation and the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision,
within and on behalf of the data space consortium, have launched an
Alignment Assembly on ‘Culture for AI’- *a participatory collective
intelligence activity and consultation process that will help us clarify
our community’s position on AI development, implementation and use.* During
this process, we will:
-
Identify consensus and friction points related to AI in the community of
the common European data space for cultural heritage;
-
Facilitate community dialogue around the emerging dilemmas and
illustrate how the heritage sector is navigating them;
-
Create a living resource with practical guidance for the community.
The Alignment Assembly will run until 4 July via an online consultation
platform. Over 200 heritage professionals already shared their views!
Read the blogpost for more context.
<https://pro.europeana.eu/post/share-your-views-about-ai-and-digital-cultura…>
How to participate:
-
Join the Alignment Assembly on the Pol.is platform
<https://pol.is/2tynneeisx>.
-
Here you can anonymously vote on statements about AI formulated by our
community. As you vote, you will immediately see a visualisation with the
results, showing how your views relate to the rest of the community.
-
Once you’ve voted on all the statements, you can propose your own
statements. These will be reviewed and approved by the moderators so that
others can vote on them.
-
Regularly come back to the Alignment Assembly to vote on new statements
submitted by the community.
-
Over time, we will start noticing consensus and friction points on
certain topics.
Also please also help us spread the word about the Assembly and engage your
network throughout the process!
Thank you and kind regards,
Johan Oomen
