These monitors should be handled properly, we've fixed a few retina-specific bugs a couple of months ago and we now have code specifically handling any pixel aspect ratio, along with test coverage. Aaron Arcos who was volunteering with us until yesterday had a retina laptop as his work machine (and so does Fabrice, I think), so we spotted those retina bugs quickly when they first showed up. We haven't had issues since we implemented the proper logic and unit tests.
