Mobile serves the same images as desktop (from upload.wikimedia.org), and they are served without Cache-Control because we rely on ETags for expiry.

Is mobile different in this? Just this week I stumbled upon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17577 which is quite
depressing.
