Dear Delphine,

Hear you. Here's a thought: since there are only 1 or 2 IRC chats to go till the Frankfurt meeting, one possibility could be to stick to the current plan till then, and discuss the possibility of rotating IRC chats as part of a conversation on how to widen and deepen participation in the next phase.

I am fully in favour of making participation/access easier, but suspect the rotation idea will need some discussion and there will be differing perspectives - hence this suggestion.

Also, hope you can participate in atleast one of the two IRC chats before Frankfurt?

Cheers
Bishakha

Hi all,

I haven't been able to make it to any of the past IRC chat in any kind
of reasonable way for the past weeks and I regret it. However, I have
to say that the time of the chat is simply extremely uncool for anyone
in my part of the world doing this as a volunteer and having both a
job and a family (or I think any of both).

I have a suggestion to make.

While I do believe that the chat should be as inclusive as possible, I
am wondering if we could not schedule two different times which would
better suit some or the other participants.

This could be done on a rotation basis, for example one Friday we'd
make sure the time is convenient for X,Y and Z, while the next it
might be more convenient for A,B and C. The idea would be to ensure
that everyone can really participate at least twice a month and might
make it to the other chats but does not feel like they're missing out
every single time.

Am I the only one in this situation? Would looking for a compromise be
an idea you would consider exploring?

Best,

Delphine
