Hello! Getting closer to a less-sucky release on both Android and (especially) iOS! This RC should hopefully have all major issues sorted out, and if nothing blocking is found will be pushed out to the app stores. People doing beta testing finding issues is much more awesome than users finding issues, so please test things out!
## What to test?
In addition to what was mentioned in the original beta (http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/mobile-l/2012-May/005566.html),
1. Error handling for network issues. Searching or accessing pages with no network should put up an explanatory message. 2. RTL languages should be handled much better. Try mixing a LTR phone language and a RTL content language to see if it is handled properly. 3. Issues with dismissing Reference display have been fixed. Tapping outside of the display should properly hide it. 4. Scrolling issues with iOS 4.x should be 'fixed' - should no longer be super-jittery. Try super-long articles, and expand multiple sections quickly. 5. Content formatting should be in tune with how it is in the Mobile site. This essentially means fixes for how infoboxes were shown. Try out different infoboxes, and compare them with the mobile site.
It would also be awesome to get people to test out saved pages across different network conditions. They've traditionally been our most brittle area, so testing on that would be much appreciated
## How to test?
For Android:
1. Download http://dumps.wikimedia.org/android/Wikipedia-v1.2-RC1-market.apk into your Android device 2. Open it in your device to install it!
Note: This build shall go up on Google Play shortly.
For iOS:
If you have not already given us your device's UDID, you need to do so. Follow the instructions at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Projects/How_to_start_beta_testing_iOS... to get started!
If you have already given us your Device's UDID (yay!) it is much simpler: 1. Download http://dumps.wikimedia.org/iOS/Wikipedia-v3.2RC1-iOS.ipa to your computer 2. Connect your iOS device to the computer 3. Open iTunes 4. Drag the IPA to the 'Apps' section of your device 5. Sync
## How to provide feedback?
You can provide us feedback in multiple ways:
1. Email us at mobile-feedback-l at lists.wikimedia.org 2. Add it to the wiki page: Android(http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Projects/WikipediaMobileAndroidFeedbac...) or iOS(http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Projects/WikipediaMobileiOSFeedback) 3. Find us on IRC - #wikimedia-mobile on freenode
On android 2.3.4 it crashes while opening. Am 23.05.2012 23:35 schrieb "Yuvi Panda" yuvipanda@gmail.com:

ant decided that it would be a good time to cache things (or mess up in general). Did a clean and new build, which seems to work without issues. Available at http://dumps.wikimedia.org/android/Wikipedia-v1.2RC1.apk
Apologies for the issue

Testing this on my Kindle Fire tablet...
The English main page seems to be a few days out of date, showing as featured article "Qayen earthquake" which was current several days ago. I'm not sure if this is a problem on the server end with caching or what.... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/ correctly shows "Miss Meyers" as today's featured article.
When I switch font sizes in settings, the toolbar shifts down and left about 4 pixels; this seems to correct itself after some scrolling.
The 'back' button frequently doesn't take me back to the previous article after following a link.... I seem to end up with multiple history entries for each page I go to, so 'back' goes back to the same page at first. Clicking on article links seems pretty unreliable and sometimes doesn't work?
We might also want to think about changing the font sizes; on a 7" tablet like the Kindle Fire (and the Blackberry Playbook) the default font size feels a bit too small, and "small" is just madness. :)
I got the app into some kind of state where it's failing to load articles or doing so vvveeerrryyyy ssslllooowwwllllyyyy, not sure I can reproduce that regularly though.

1. History seems to be adding multiple entries 2. Tapping links on articles sometimes doesn't seem to register the click?

Hmm, perhaps some sort of 'size is dependent on screen size / dpi' code? How's the default size on the web browser (Should be same as app, since we share styles)?

Network's fine? :) Ways to repro this would be wonderful :)
Also, you have iOS devices too, I think? :D
