We also have "release cards" which are templated for each version we submit to the App Store. We don't go so far as to add "blocking tasks" for each release, but (in a Kanban-like style) "pull" the release card to "Done," and by proxy pull all the cards ahead of it to "Done."

I also hope to deprecate (or drastically reduce) the spreadsheet of manual test cases and replace them w/ a suite of automated functional tests that run across multiple languages.  Some day...

We're planning on getting something similar for the reading web through this quarter. Clearly stating and performing releases of our software is very important (as well as documenting how we do it).

Good work!

For those of you on the list with an interest, our release process, which is an evolving thing, is documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Apps/Team/Release_process. Enjoy!

Brian, I think I had the link to the nifty iOS spreadsheet but can't seem to find it. Would you remind what it is? Thanks!

Hey all,

I've added some tests to our regression document in preparation for 4.1.5. In a nutshell:
  • Added "Languages & Sites" section for switching languages (including Norwegian) as a stopgap to check startup on various languages w/o crashing
  • Added a test (81) for deleting "Recent" pages which are also "Saved" and ensuring those pages are still "Saved" and available offline
  • Clarified some tests in the "Offline Functionality" section (78-80)
  • Added "Crash Reporting" to make sure we don't accidentally break crash reporting again!
  • Added a link to YouTube for data import instructions for migration testing
Let me know if you think I forgot anything,

Brian
