Is Wikipedia Zero only for reading, or for editing, too?

I noticed this Twitter conversation today:

It says that it's only for reading.

If it's true, is there a reason for this?

I don't know about images and videos, but I imagine that the costs for editing traffic would be negligible to the carriers and it will create a lot of, um, good karma for everybody.
